Last week, the first of 25 PIGShibition’s oversized pigs was unveiled to the public on the downtown Fayetteville Square.  Arvest Bank is the proud sponsor of this first, beautifully-painted sculptured pig.  Priscilla White, a University of Arkansas Drama student, was the chosen artist for this pig.

What is PIGShibition?

PIGShibition is a team effort between the Ozark Literacy Council (OLC) and the Fayetteville A&P Commission to raise money for OLC and raise awareness of Fayetteville’s artistic community.  The project is OLC’s most ambitious fundraising program yet, and is sure to be a successful one.

Twenty-five pigs are planned to be sponsored by various businesses and people throughout Northwest Arkansas. Each pig will be painted by a different local artist.  PIGShibition will continue through the fall as 24 more colorful painted pigs are revealed at various locations throughout Fayetteville.  The pigs will stay on display through March 2013, at which time they will be auctioned off to people who wish to buy the artistic sculptures.

Ozark Literacy will be set up at the downtown Fayetteville Arvest Plaza Saturday, August 11th to help promote PIGShibition.  Pigs are still available for sponsorship.  To learn more about PIGSHibition, click here.

Arvest Bank is very excited to be a part of PIGShibition and to support the OLC and local artists throughout Northwest Arkansas.
